The harmful effects of tobacco have been known since the mid 1900s. The recent Scottish Government focus has been on discouraging people from starting smoking (prevention), protection (such as from second hand smoke) and helping those who want to stop smoking (cessation). The harmful effects of tobacco underpin all three of these. This section of the toolkit aims to address them all.

Further resources are available to order from NHS Highland’s Health Information and Resources Service (HIRS).  To obtain resources from HIRS, you will need to register on the web site. You can search the site by subject. Materials can be delivered to your local NHS Hospital or GP premises, or collected from and returned to Southside Road, Inverness.
